Aamir Khan and his first wife Reena Dutta have maintained a friendly relationship even after their divorce, co-parenting their kids Ira Khan and Junaid Khan. Recently, fans got to see a glimpse of their camaraderie as Aamir attended Reena’s art exhibition at the Nehru Centre Art Gallery. The exhibition runs from November 18 to 24, 2025. Reena shared photographs with Aamir from the exhibition and thanked him for attending the event.

She wrote, “When your ex surprises you and appears for your exhibition, Thank you Aamir for your continuous support in my art journey #dropletsofpaint #chitrasutraartacademy Drop by to see our works @Nehru Centre Art Gallery 18th to 24th Nov 2025.”

Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta tied the knot in 1986. Aamir was 21 years old when he married his first wife, Reena, who was 19 at the time. The couple had two kids — daughter Ira Khan and son Junaid Khan. However, their relationship didn’t last and they parted ways in 2002 after 16 years of marriage. Despite the separation, they remained amicable.

Aamir Khan has spoken about his marriage with Reena in an old interview with Raj Shamani, where he recalled that they married very young and very quickly. He said, “We only knew each other for just four months. We hadn’t even spent a lot of time together. We loved each other a lot. However, now when I look back, I realise we should have thought about it. Uss waqt jawaani ke josh me aap bahot sari cheezein nahi samajhte ho (We don’t realise a lot of things because we are young and careless).”

He added, “Meri Reena ke sath zindagi bahot achi kati hai. Iska aap ye matlab na nikaliye ki Reena galti thi. Ye mera matlab bilkul nahi hai (I have had a good life with Reena. Please don’t misunderstand my statement. I am not saying that Reena was a mistake. The timing was). Reena is an amazing person. We’ve kind of grown up together. We respect each other, and have a lot of love for each other. But, I don’t think anyone should take such a big step in life, at such a young age, in panic.”
